Our Cooperative
With the aim of catering to the needs of our members, customers and environment, we offer services focussing on sustainable farming, providing our employees and production members with ongoing training to improve our standards and create value for the entire economic and social ecosystem we inhabit.
ORGANIC FARMING
Situated at the gates to the Sierra Calderona mountain range and under the premise of organic farming, we grow healthy, natural food produce.
NATURAL HERITAGE
We ensure that our produce is completely natural. We deliver fresh products to your table, recently picked from the trees, with unbeatable flavour, smell and quality that can only come from years of farming traditions.
“Natural heritage brought to your table”
SUSTAINABILITY
Our crops are environmentally friendly, respecting the natural growing cycles of our trees. Always based on traditional farming methods, with no residues, this contributes to the sustainability and natural balance of our environment.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
“Small actions to make a more sustainable world: reduce, reuse, recycle.”
We boldly deal with the challenges we face with respect to responsible consumption, climate change, innovation and the circular economy.
Our agricultural cooperative model is a model that combines our age-old knowledge with modernity. We strive to share, rent, reuse, repair, overhaul, recycle existing materials and products whenever this is possible to generate added value, thus extending the lifecycle of these products and reducing any waste we produce to a minimum.
We help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 emission), lowering our impact on the environment and improving food safety in the supply chain.
Our history
Here are some of the most significant milestones in our history:

Establishment
Bétera Cooperative was established as a result of the concerns of farmers to reduce the purchase prices in agriculture and food.
The original departments at COABE were:

New services
To meet the financial needs of our members, we created the credit department at the home of the brothers José and Plácido Sancho Aloy (members 18 and 19).
Extension
The efforts by the founding members saw their fruition, and they were able to buy a piece of land nearer the fields to where they moved their agricultural supplies.
At the same time business premises were rented where the credit department was transferred and a new commissary was opened, which, owing to its huge success was extended shortly afterwards.
It was here that COABE’S current heritage was established.

Proximity
Owing to the huge demand, the agricultural supplies warehouse was transferred to a location that was more easily accessible for the members.
It was a site covering 120 hanegadas (1 hanegada = 840 m2), with a warehouse, offices, a weighbridge for tractors and trucks, irrigation pool and motor, and orange groves.
This is where the Horticultural Department was built, adhering to Anecoop, where 50% of the employees are inhabitants of Bétera.

Proximity
“Our thanks go out to all the former and current members of the Board of Governors who have supported the Cooperative and all these achievements over the years"
Find out what makes us different. Farmers with a long family tradition, who strive to produce tasty, healthy food products grown sustainably for future generations.
Horticultural Department
What makes us different is the perfect symbiosis between ethical/social values, sustainability, digitalisation and technology with our business ethics and values.
Cooperation and solidarity guide us on the road to this new paradigm, where ethics recover their leading role. All the members of the cooperative enjoy their work and this leads to an atmosphere of joint creation, generating value for the organisation as a whole.

Our orchards
Our farms are hundreds of years old, rustic, enchanting and with high environmental value. Lovers of the countryside and nature can visit our orchards and groves and enjoy the natural landscape.
They are located in close proximity to the Sierra Calderona mountain range, where the local, northeast microclimates are noticeable. This is the perfect climate in harmony with our farms located in different areas in the municipal districts of Bétera, Marines, Lliria, Vilamarxant and Náquera.
These local microclimates and the soils there confer our productstheir delicious taste and exquisite fragrances, which are unique, genuine, fresh, straight from the field.

Where to find us
The efforts behind our crops and the way they are cared for all takes place at our facilities in Bétera, in the Camp de Turia region, in Valencia, the capital of the autonomous Region of Valencia.
We are located just 14 km from the city of Valencia, and 23 km from the Mediterranean Sea, meaning we are very well communicated. This is the perfect location for shipments and deliveries, meaning that you will be able to eat fresh, tasty, healthy produce.
We want nearby towns and villages to be able to enjoy the unique characteristic traits of the horticultural crops in our region in season, encouraging proximity trade.

Efficient infrastructures
Climate change and greenhouse gases are one of humanity’s biggest challenges that are threatening farming production. Our commitment has led us to install solar panels on the roof of our plant, and our goal is to reach 100% renewable energy by 2030.
We have efficient infrastructures:
- LED lighting.
- Refrigeration fitted with frequency adjusters to regulate electricity consumption at all times.
- Hot water installation heated by photovoltaic solar panels and hot water storage tanks for changing rooms.
- Photovoltaic solar installation for electricity production.
- 2 production lines for our organic mandarin oranges, oranges, pomegranates and kakis.
Advertising and Marketing
Our objective is to disseminate our organic brand image and catch the attention of consumers through a communication strategy by means of which we will position ourselves as the benchmark brand in the town and region of Camp de Turia with respect to fruit and vegetable produce.
On social media we inform our surrounding area about our values, news, tips, games and viral content. We want to be closer to the public and show them our “World of Horticulture” so that they can take part in the work we do and join us on the road towards responsible farming.
We intend to continue on this path with a healthy, sustainable lifestyle at the forefront, such as eating citrus fruit, fruit and vegetables, doing exercise and sport and respect for the environment and people.
